This event is fantastic for all abilities; whether you're a first-time runner or a seasoned pro, the Edinburgh Marathon Festival is one to tick off the list. This famously flat course is lined with spectacular sights and incredible crowds. From 5k to a full marathon, and with junior and adult events available, choose the challenge that suits you!
Charity places
We have charity places across all event distances that come with a registration fee and minimum sponsorship target (not including Gift Aid):
Marathon: £20 registration fee and a minimum sponsorship of £495. Entries now closed for this distance.
Relay: £40 registration fee (£10 per person) and a minimum sponsorship target of £495 (per team).
Half Marathon: £15 registration fee and a minimum sponsorship target of £295. Entries now closed for this distance.
5K/10K: £10 registration fee and a minimum sponsorship target of £150.
Junior Races: £5 registration fee and a minimum sponsorship target of £50.
Whichever distance you choose, our team is on hand to support you every step of the way, throughout your fundraising and training.
Own place
If you have secured your own place through Edinburgh Marathon directly, we would love for you to join #TeamStroke. Those who secure their own place will have no minimum sponsorship target, but everything you do raise will help rebuild lives after stroke.

Frequently asked questions
Will I receive a running vest to wear at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival?
Yes, you will be sent a Stroke Association running vest. This will arrive with you approximately one month before the event.
I want to enter the relay, how does this work?
Select a team captain and get them to register for the entire team, paying a £40 registration fee (£10 per person).
Choose the option to set up a team fundrasing page and work together to reach the £495 target!
Will you have a cheer point on the day?
The more the merrier!
