Walk your Marathon

I'm taking part in the Walk your Marathon challenge!

I joined #TeamStroke for Walk your Marathon, taking on 26.2 miles over 2 weeks.

After suffering a stroke in my early twenties I was left having to rebuild my life. I couldn’t go back to uni, had to learn to walk properly again and had different therapies to help me to regain the skills I’d lost.

The stroke association were there from the start. They paid for driving lessons for my husband to help us out. They were there for emotional support too. I underestimated the impact that it’d all have on me emotionally, as well as physically. I couldn’t thank them enough for what they did and continue to do for others.

I’m lucky enough to say that I’m now living a normal life again, with two beautiful babies and my family and friends around me.

Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
