I'm taking part in the TCS London Marathon as part of #TeamStroke
I decided to run another marathon because I wanted to prove to myself and others that there is life after menopause. That I can still make a difference in society. I also needed to ensure exercised every week to support my physical and mental wellbeing. So I chose to joined #TeamStroke to help others because since around the age of 10 I experienced how stroke affects people and their families, friends and colleagues. My gran, one of my sisters, a friend and a colleague all had a at least one stroke.
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so they work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. They rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative

Successful night at Dave's Legendary Quiz night on 7th March

Huge thanks to David Saunders from travelling through from Edinburgh to prepare and host a charity quiz night at the Glasgow Eagle lab on the 7th March. Everyone had a great night and it was wonderful to see the community of Glasgow Eagle labs members, local businesses as well as family and friends support this great cause.
Together £1195 was raised by you.. £755 was directly paid into this Just Giving page and £440 was collected in cash which I paid in, giving a grant total raised of £1195 as a direct result of the charity quiz night.
Congratulations to Raven Controls who were the winning team.
David hosted such a successful quiz night many requests have come in for it to be repeated. So the next quiz at the Glasgow lab for members will be at the end of June.
