We are taking part in the Great North Run as part of #TeamStroke
We have joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run.
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
This charity has helped my family so much to navigate Dad’s stroke. On the 18th December 2023, Dad suffered a massive stroke, resulting in nearly 8 months in various hospitals and rehabilitation centres. Dad’s life has been changed in an instant, and without the amazing advancements in technology, knowledge and treatment, he may not be with us today. We are running the Great North Run for a charity which advocates for survivors and their families and contributes to research and treatment so every survivor of a stroke is given the best shot at life. We’re grateful to be able to contribute to this in some way- and we’re also really bad at running so it’ll be a good laugh for everyone watching.
