❤️ RUNNING THE BRIGHTON MARATHON FOR MUM ❤️
I’m so excited (and slightly terrified! 😂) to say that I’ve been accepted to run the Brighton Marathon! 🏃♀️❤️
This is going to be so much more than just a marathon for me.
Earlier this year, my mother-in-law Jean suffered a stroke which completely changed her life and ours as a family. Watching someone you love suddenly lose abilities that we all take for granted — including her speech, reading and writing — has been absolutely heartbreaking.
But Jean has also shown us just how much strength a person can have. ❤️
My brother and I wanted to take everything our family has been through and turn it into something positive, so we have decided to take on this huge challenge and raise money for the Stroke Association.
I won’t pretend 26.2 miles is going to be easy! I’m only at the beginning of my running journey, so there are going to be a LOT of miles, sore legs and probably a fair bit of questioning my life choices along the way 😂 — but whenever it gets tough, I’ll remember exactly why I’m doing it.
Every mile will be for Jean, for our family, and for every person whose life has been changed by stroke. ❤️
