Doing this for you mum - Brighton Marathon
I always said I would never do the marathon again and that was 15 years ago.
However this all changed when my life got turned upside down when we lost my beautiful mum suddenly one day in April 2025 due to a stroke. We lost her in 12 hours. She was everything to us all, especially my son and I and want to do something back for this amazing charity
She will think I’m crazy but I’m putting on my trainers again and I have joined #TeamStroke for the Brighton Marathon 2026 in memory of my amazing mum. Hopefully they will continue to help others who survive strokes and allow them to rebuild their lives with their families.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
