I'm taking part in the TCS London Marathon as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the TCS London Marathon 2026.
In 2023, my grandad – my best mate and someone who’s shaped so much of who I am – suffered a stroke, completely out of the blue. It was one of the hardest things our family has faced. Seeing the man who had always been so strong, so full of life, suddenly lying helpless in a hospital bed was heartbreaking.
When he came home, we didn’t have a clue what to do next. We felt lost. Then we were given a booklet from Stroke UK full of advice, information, and reassurance. It might not sound like much, but at a time when everything felt uncertain, it meant everything. Without their guidance, we wouldn’t have known how to start helping him rebuild.
Since then, Grandad has made an amazing recovery. A big part of that is down to his strength and determination and also to my Grandma, who’s been by his side every step of the way. Her love and support kept us all going.
Now, I’m running the London Marathon to raise money for Stroke UK, so that more families can get the help we were lucky enough to receive.
Every donation, no matter how small, makes a real difference.
We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
