Why I’m running for my Dad
Two years ago this October, I was there when I witnessed my dad have his stroke. It was the scariest moment of my life and I immediately knew the severity of the situation.
Nothing could’ve of prepared me for how quickly everything changes. The trips to the hospital, difficultly carrying out “simple” tasks and he is the strongest person I know, which made it hard to see him need help. Recovery isn’t a straight line and two years on, it’s still ongoing. But my dad is still here and we’re so grateful for that gift.
Looking back I wish there’d been more support for families like ours. That’s why I’m running the London Marathon on 24th April for the Stroke Association. They fund research into better treatments, support survivors through rehabilitation and help families who suddenly don’t know where to turn.
If you can donate it all goes towards changing and improving people’s lives after a stroke. Sharing this page helps just as much.
Thank you ❤️
