I'm taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

In July 2025 we were absolutely devastated when my Gran had a stroke we thought the worse amazingly she has and continues to make a phenomenal recovery to be independent again I can not express how proud I am to have witnessed her take those first steps with the support of the stroke team in the hospital. This is not the first time our family has been devastated by stroke my grans sister Madge had a life changing stroke many years before

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Week 1 training

Monday 12th Jan

Completed my first week of offical training yesterday! A Massive thank you to all of the support, encouragement, positive words and of course first donations!

I am using the runna app I completed 3 set training runs as well as a few extra with my running group. I will also be completing a strength session focused on running once a week. My progress can also be followed on my strava page
