I'm taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2024.

My dad had a Stroke over 4 years ago now and he sadly passed away in October 2020 but is forever in our hearts.

Strokes not only happen to the elderly, they can happen to the youngest of us, even unborn babies, which was the case for my cousin's child, William. I am pleased to say that he has been given the all clear with no long term effects and is a ray of sunshine.

Apparently there are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

The Stroke Association are there to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. They believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so they work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support.

So please do help me raise some money for this great cause and in return I will get those running shoes out and do my best for this challenge ahead! Just remind me why I left it to trying this at 51 years of age?!!!
