I'm taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

In Memory of My Brother Stephen

Friday 23rd May
When l started running again in 2023 my ultimate goal was to run my first Marathon, this l achieved in Brighton this year fundraising for Multiple Sclerosis Society.

May 2026 l will run Edinburgh Marathon to raise vital funds for the Stroke Association in memory of my brother Stephen.

Stephen had a massive stroke December 2024 and sadly he lost his battle on the 24th January 2025.  Stephen faught hard having undergone major surgery for swelling on the brain, he also had various complications and pneumonia.  The Stroke was sudden, it was a shock to all the family and his friends.  His sudden loss has affected us all.

I am running to raise vital funds for the Stroke Association to help research, raise awareness, support and services.  To support those currently suffering this type of disability, the limitations that may impact people's lives and support recovery.
