I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery. 

We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

No one should face recovery from a stroke alone, we need to raise awareness of how this illness effects patients/relatives/families/
friends. I’m running for my mam to raise money and awareness. One day my mam/best friend was talking, walking and knew her who all her loved ones were. She lived daily with Alzheimers/Vascular Dementia. Then quick as a flash she’s was gone locked in her own little world following a major bleed/stroke. Let’s do this and raise money for this great cause that tends to get overlooked and not nearly enough money put in to the research that’s needed for the future ❤️ I’m no runner by any means. I vow to give everything I have to run the GNR for such a good cause ❤️
