I joined #TeamStroke for the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2026.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

In Loving Memory of Fred Mitten

In January 2020, I lost my amazing grandfather, Fred Mitten, to a stroke.

He was a very active person until his early 70's, still working a physical job and carrying his equipment all over town, until he had his first stroke. He spent some time getting back on his feet but in 2020 he suffered another stroke that meant he was no longer with us. He is & was a huge influence in my life, and I miss him so much.

I have 2 other grandparents that have also suffered from strokes, so I have seen firsthand how devastating this disease is and how life changing it can be.

I am running the London Royal Parks Half Marathon in memory of my grandad and in representation of all those affected.
