I'm taking part in the Brighton Marathon as part of #TeamStroke
I am running the Brighton Marathon 2025 for Stroke Association.
Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. It is a leading cause of disability and can leave people unable to move, see, speak or even swallow.
The Stroke Association helps survivors, and their families, to rebuild their lives by working with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support.
The charity relies on donations and volunteers to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into prevention and rehabilitation.
My own family has been repeatedly affected by stroke. Investment in prevention, early treatment and rehabilitation is urgently needed to save more families from the devastation caused by stroke.
