I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

Call me crazy as I don’t run, but it’s time to start training! 💪🏻 I’ve officially signed up for the Great North Run this September 🤯

On 10th February 2023, my dad suffered a stroke. It was one of the scariest and most heartbreaking times for our family. Thankfully, he made a full recovery, but I know that so many people aren’t as lucky.

That’s why I’ll be running for the Stroke Association, raising as much money as I can to support the incredible work they do for stroke survivors and their families.

I’d be so grateful for any donations, support and shares. ❤️💪🏻

Completed the GNR 2026!

Tuesday 15th Sep
WE DID IT! 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽💙

Yesterday, Brad & I completed the Great North Run! 13.1 miles, a LOT of nerves & very sore feet but we made it to that finish line! 🏁

What makes it even more special is that between us, we’ve raised an incredible £1388 for the Stroke Association!

This was a really personal charity for us so every single donation, message, share & bit of support that we’ve both received has meant more than you know.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated, supported us, checked in on us, listened to me panic about whether I’d actually make it round & cheered us on from the sidelines.

I genuinely never thought I’d be able to run a half marathon & there were definitely moments during training where I didn’t think I’d make it to the start line let alone the finish line!

But we did it. ❤️🏅

13.1 miles DONE. £1,388 RAISED. One hell of a day. 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽🏁💙

Thank you all so so much. 🥹❤️

What an amazing thing you’re doing! ❤️ Wishing you the very best of luck with your run and raising money for such an important charity. The Stroke Association is a charity very close to our hearts, as we’ve been through this journey ourselves with Kylie, so we know first-hand just how important the support, research and awareness they provide really is. You should be so proud of yourself for taking on this challenge. We are sure you will absolutely smash it! Every step you take will be helping to make a difference to someone’s life. Good luck, enjoy every moment and know we will be cheering you on all the way! Love Leese & Wrigs x 🏃‍♀️❤️
