I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery. 

We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

I’m running this for my dad who sadly passed away in March this year due to having a stroke. I’ve not ran in a while properly due to injury and the loss of my Dad. 
I’ve ran some fairly long races over the last few years but my dad never seemed to be impressed because I’d not ran the GNR, I’ll add, this is definitely not something that was ever on my bucket list because I hate road running with a passion. But this is for my dad I promised him if he got out of hospital I’d put in to do it but he never made it out and I thought why not anyway, always good to raise a bit of money for charity and help others. So any donation would be more than welcome
