I'm taking part in the TCS London Marathon 2027 with TeamStroke for my Dad Dave Taylor
On 8th September 2024, my dad’s life changed completely.
After having successfully battled prostate cancer and beginning to enjoy his retirement, my dad, Dave Taylor, suffered a severe brain bleed that resulted in a life-changing stroke.
The stroke affected the left side of his brain, leaving him with no use of the left side of his body, in a wheelchair and completely paralysed . It was a devastating shock for our entire family, but most of all for him. After everything he had already overcome, it felt incredibly unfair.
What followed were 15 long weeks in hospital and rehabilitation. There were moments of frustration, pain, tears, and exhaustion. He fought every single day. He cried, he shouted, and he questioned why this had happened, but he never gave up.
In true Dave Taylor style, he faced the biggest challenge of his life head-on and came out fighting. The dad we have today may be different from the one we knew before, but he is just as strong, determined, and inspiring. I could not be more proud of him.
To honour his incredible courage and resilience, I will be running the London Marathon and raising money to support this cause. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference and means the world to our family.
Please join me in supporting this fight and donate whatever you can.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity.
