I'm taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2024
On the 18th of December 2023, Elles dad, Don McCabe, suffered a massive ischemic stroke whilst on a work trip.
Even though he was treated quickly he has been left with significant brain injury, paralysis, aphasia and apraxia of speech. He has just returned home after spending 9 months in various hospitals.
I am grateful to be able to raise money such a worthy cause and on behalf of an amazing man.
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with one person suffering a stroke every 5 minutes. The Stroke Association provides support and advice to families just like ours, and relies on donations to provide vital services, campaign for better care and fund research into the fourth leading cause of death in the UK. I’m running the Royal parks half marathon in October to raise money for such a worthy cause. Running is definitely not something I am good at so this will be a real challenge for a worthy cause. Please consider donating whatever you can for a very worthwhile charity.
