I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.
We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Monday 10th Aug🏃🏼♀️❤️ The Great North Run my For Grandad
This year I’m running the Great North Run in memory of my Grandad, who we sadly lost in late 2024.
His motto was to never give up something he truly lived by after suffering a stroke in his late 40s. He showed me what strength and resilience really look like, and I couldn’t be prouder of him.
The run will be tough, but I’ll carry his words with me every step of the way. I hope I can do him proud. ❤️
