I'm taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon as part of #TeamStroke
I have joined #TeamStroke for the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2025. 🏃🏻♀️
On October 8th, 2024 whilst exercising, I suffered a subarachnoid haemorrhage.
A subarachnoid haemorrhage is an uncommon type of stroke caused by bleeding on the surface of the brain. It's a very serious condition and can be fatal but after being treated at Salisbury Hospital before being transferred to Southampton Neurological ward, I have continued to make a successful recovery at home, in the absence of work.
I would like to raise money for the Stroke Association to allow them continue to develop the knowledge and resources needed to help people who have suffered a stroke.
For those who know me, exercise is my life. It has always been so important to me. I have met some of the best people through classes and teams I have been a part of. Running is something I enjoy but it’s not something I am built for! After over 100 parkruns, I still wouldn’t consider myself a ‘runner’. My furthest distance to date is 10 miles and my legs were quivering at 8 miles! So this distance is going to be a huge challenge.
Taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 12th October 2025, will be one year on from being treated in hospital, so it will be very special for me.
Whether you are able to donate or simply send me a “you’re nuts!” message, thank you in advance.
Robynn ❤️ x
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes. We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments. My Achievements
