I'm taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2026 as part of #TeamStroke
In 2026, I’ll be taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon as part of #TeamStroke, and this one means more to me than I can really put into words.
In May 2023, my dad, Keith, suffered a brain haemorrhage/stroke. Just a month later, in the june of that year, we lost him. It was sudden, devastating, and something no family ever feels prepared for. Life changed very quickly for all of us.
But if you knew my dad, you’d know he wouldn’t want this to just be about loss. He was one of those people who would always show up for a good cause—no matter how ridiculous or challenging it seemed. Over the years, he’d take on big charity events and somehow make them even bigger… whether that meant running long distances, cycling miles in a women’s outfit, or tackling the Three Peaks in a wig. He did it all with a smile, a laugh, and a genuine desire to help others. Oh and a pint in his hand at the end🤣
That’s the energy I want to carry forward.
I’m not just running because of what happened to my dad—I’m running because I’ve seen the incredible work that Stroke Association does, supporting survivors and families through some of the hardest moments of their lives. No one should have to go through what we did without help, guidance, and hope.
If the money I raise helps even one person… one family… navigate that journey a little easier, then it will mean everything. It will mean I’ve done something my dad would be proud of.
To take part with #TeamStroke, I need to raise a minimum of £350, and every single donation—no matter the size—makes a difference.
This is just the beginning, too. I want to keep my dad’s flame alive by taking on at least three charity events every year and not taking my foot off the gas. This isn’t a one-off—it’s something I’m committed to, for him and for others.
If you can donate, share, or support in any way, I’d be incredibly grateful. Thank you for helping me turn something painful into something positive.
Let’s do this for my dad Keith ❤️
I joined #TeamStroke for the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2026.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
