I want to run the Brighton Marathon to raise money for Stroke because this cause means so much to me and my family. My dad had a major stroke, and it turned our lives upside down. It was an incredibly difficult time for me, my mum, and my sister, as we watched him face such a life-changing event. Although he has been amazing in his recovery, the stroke has left him with a weak leg, and we see every day how much it still affects him. Despite this, he never lets it stop him. He continues to work every day as a plasterer, showing incredible determination, resilience, and a positive attitude. His strength inspires me, and I want to take on the challenge of the Brighton Marathon in his honour. I also want to raise awareness of the lasting impact stroke has on survivors and their families, and help raise vital funds so that others can receive the support, care, and hope they need on their own recovery journey.
