I'm taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon 2027 with #TeamStroke
I've joined #TeamStroke for the Cardiff Half Marathon 2027.
I’m running this half marathon in loving memory of my father, Bodrul Hussain, who sadly passed away from a brain stroke in September 2026, to honour his life and raise awareness and vital funds for the Stroke Association so that other families may be spared the heartbreak we have experienced.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.
We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Running for My Dad, Bodrul Hussain ❤️
Thursday 22nd OctOn 3 October 2027, I’ll be taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon in loving memory of my dad, Bodrul Hussain, who sadly passed away from a brain stroke in September 2026.
Losing my dad has been one of the hardest things my family and I have ever experienced. A stroke changed our lives forever, and I want to turn that heartbreak into something meaningful by raising money for the Stroke Association.
I’m running to honour my dad’s memory, help raise awareness of stroke, and support other families who are facing the challenges and heartbreak that stroke can bring. No family should have to navigate that journey without support.
Running 13.1 miles will be a personal challenge, but knowing that every step is for my dad will give me a reason to keep going, even when it gets difficult.
If you’re able to support me, whether through a donation, sharing my fundraising page, or simply cheering me on, I would be incredibly grateful. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will help the Stroke Association continue its vital work supporting stroke survivors and their families.
