Bath Half Marathon 2026

I'm taking part in the Bath Half Marathon as part of #TeamStroke

I've joined #TeamStroke for the stunning Bath Half Marathon 2026, taking in some of Bath's famous landmarks on closed roads.

My Dad suffered a catastrophic stroke when he was just 57. He wasn't expected to make it through the first few days. But he fought for 3 months, eventually leaving hospital, but would lose feeling and strength to 50% of his body for the rest of his life. But life went on. He focused on the positives and his resilience meant that he continued to enjoy life, travel and watch his grandkids grow, despite the odds,  for another 22 years. He was the definition of a fighter and he was my best mate.

I am running in honour of him, to raise money for other survivors.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

The Stroke association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
