I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2025 as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2025.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Great North Run 2025

Wednesday 23rd Jul
On September 7th my wife and I will be running the Great North Run in support of the Stroke Association and would love any help you can provide. 

We’re supporting the Stroke Association because my mum suffered a major stroke last July and unfortunately wasn’t able to recover, passing away in November. 

Throughout this period, my dad received brilliant help from the Stroke Association so we’re showing our gratitude by raising money for them to help both their research and to support others going through a similar experience. 

She spent her whole life living in Newcastle only a mile or so from the start line, so the Great North Run jumped out as the obvious choice of a race for us. She’ll very much be in our hearts throughout the race.
