I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.
We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

My Why
Monday 12th Jan As someone who suffered a TIA “mini stroke” 10 years ago and have family history I know how important the work the stroke association do . Luckily for me at the time I was fairly fit and allowed for a full recovery. I’m a lucky one that did and I have continued to keep myself fit and healthy since running is a passion and the chance to run this iconic race and raise much needed funds is an opportunity o couldn’t turn down to give back and help someone else . Please donate if you can 🙏 ShareThank you to my sponsors

Getting the ball rolling , as someone who suffered a mini stroke around 10 years ago I know the importance of raising money for this great charity to help research . The fact I was fit at the time aided my recovery and allowed a full recovery. Others are less fortunate
