I joined #TeamStroke for the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2024.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

On 5th March this year at 20:23 my world fell apart when my brave, strong, courageous and amazing mother lost her battle having suffered a stroke the week before. A stroke that she should never have had. She was my biggest supporter when it came to running races and she knew how disappointed I was when I was unsuccessful in my ballot to get a place for the Royal Parks this year as this was the race that I felt beat me last time and she knew how much I wanted to prove to myself that I will never be beaten by a race. Well, this time I will run for her and she will be with me every step of the way.

RIP Mumsie, you were, are and always will be the biggest part of my heart ❤️
