I'm taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon 2027 with #TeamStroke
I've joined #TeamStroke for the Cardiff Half Marathon 2027.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.
We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

My personal history
Saturday 24th OctThree years ago, I suffered a stroke, from which I made a full recovery. This experience profoundly changed my perspective on life and gave me a personal connection to the cause supported by the Stroke Association.
As a healthcare professional working in neuroradiology, I understand the importance of early diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and research. However, experiencing a stroke made me appreciate even more how life-changing this condition can be, not only for patients but also for their families.
Being able to run the Cardiff Half Marathon today is something I feel incredibly grateful for. I would love to turn my personal experience into something meaningful by raising funds for the Stroke Association and supporting its vital work for people affected by stroke.
For me, this race would represent resilience, recovery and the opportunity to give back to a cause that is deeply personal to me. I would be honoured to run for the Stroke Association and help make a difference in the lives of others affected by stroke.
