I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.

We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Running the GNR - The Why?

Hey Everyone!!! I’m Running the Great North Run for the Stroke Association ❤️

On Sunday 13th September, I’ll be taking on the Great North Run – my first half marathon – and I’m doing it in memory of my close family members who we sadly lost to stroke.

Losing Family to this devastating disease has been incredibly hard. Stroke can strike suddenly and change lives in an instant – not just for the person affected, but for the whole family. The Stroke Association does vital work supporting survivors, funding research, and providing help to families like mine when we needed it most.

That’s why I’ve set myself this challenge. Training will be tough (I’m a 5-6.5k Guy🤣), but every mile I run is for them and for everyone impacted by stroke.
