I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.
We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Megan’s fundraising story
Monday 29th DecI’m fundraising for the Stroke Association because stroke has affected people very close to my heart and I’ve seen first-hand how life-changing its effects can be for those affected.
I’m taking on the Great North Run — a 13.1-mile journey from Newcastle to South Shields — to raise awareness and funds for a cause that truly matters to me. Stroke can happen to anyone, at any time, and its impact reaches far beyond the individual, affecting families and loved ones in an instant.
The Stroke Association provides vital support for survivors and their families, funds life-saving research, and helps people rebuild confidence, independence, and hope after stroke.
By supporting my fundraising, you’re helping ensure that more people receive the care and support they need. Every donation makes a real difference, and I’m incredibly grateful for your encouragement, kindness and generosity.
