I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2025 as part of #TeamStroke

I’m excited to share that I’ll be running the Great North Run this year, and I’m doing it for a cause that’s very close to my heart – the Stroke Association. Every mile I run, every step I take, will be in support of those who have been affected by stroke, their families, and the vital work that the Stroke Association does to help people rebuild their lives.

Why the Stroke Association?

Stroke is a leading cause of disability, and every year, over 100,000 people in the UK have a stroke. The impact on individuals, families, and communities can be devastating. The Stroke Association is an incredible charity that provides essential support to stroke survivors and their families, offering advice, resources, and services to help them through their recovery journey. They also fund crucial research into stroke prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.

By supporting me, you’ll be helping to make a real difference in the lives of stroke survivors and ensuring that the Stroke Association can continue its life-changing work.

How You Can Help

I’m aiming to raise £350, and I’d love your support! No donation is too small – every little bit helps. Your generosity will help provide the necessary resources for people recovering from stroke, give hope to families, and contribute to vital research.

How to Donate

Simply click on the ‘Donate’ button at the top of this page to contribute to my fundraising effort. Whether it's £5, £10, or more, your support will mean the world to me and to those who rely on the Stroke Association’s services.

I’ll be training hard for the Great North Run, and I’m determined to cross that finish line knowing that I’ve helped make a difference. Thank you for your support, encouragement, and kindness!

Together, we can help stroke survivors live the life they deserve.

Thank you for being a part of this journey!

#greatnorthrun training update - May 🌿🐶🚴

Wednesday 4th Jun
Another great month of building fitness and pushing myself. With the dry spell of weather came the opportunity to dust off the bike and do some trail riding as part of my training, which I loved 🚲 as well as plenty of running, dog walking 🦮 and karate 🥋

So pleased to be making progress in the distance of runs as well as progressing in the gym. With the 10k being so close, now’s the time to push through that barrier.

Please, if you can, donate to the cause. Use the link in my story to find the page. The @thestrokeassociation do incredible work helping those affected by stroke. Your donations do make a real difference! Thank you to those who’ve donated so far, we keep going!

Training Update - March

Tuesday 1st Apr
March has been a crazy month! Starting a new job has forced me to adjust my schedule and that has meant my running volume has taken a dip.

However, the runs I have managed to complete (even the ones Strava didn't record) have felt much easier than they used to. Averaging 5k per run is something I used to struggle with, but the progress I've made so far is definitely being felt.

April will be a month where I aim to build up my running volume and push my runs towards 10k, as well as incorporate some strength training.

Any donations towards this fantastic cause would be massively appreciate and go towards helping stroke survivors! Thank you

Training Update!

Thursday 27th Feb
Into the final week of my re-introduction to running, having not run for over a year. I hadn’t realised the toll that year had taken on my legs. Slowly but surely, the longer runs are feeling easier again and my calves have begun to tolerate the load 🦵
Next block will be gradually building the volume and capacity - and hopefully taking some more photos of the process 📸 and having company throughout from Rocky 🦮 who so far, hasn’t realised how difficult these runs are on only 2 legs
Any donations are hugely appreciated and go towards a fantastic cause!
