Running for My Wife, Nanny & Grandad
Friday 20th SepIn September 2025 i’m running the Great North Run for Stroke Association.
In 2018 my wife, who was 32 at the time unfortunately suffered a stroke completely out of the blue following a clot on the brain. Thankfully she has fully recovered due to the actions of the hospital team.
My late Grandad also suffered a stroke and lived with the after effects for a number of years.

More recently my Nanny had a stroke. She was once an active, fit woman with a sharp mind but a stroke has taken this away from her and us her family.
Strokes can have a devastating impact on the person but also their family. It can destroy the very essence of a person who you love and can change them forever.
The Stroke association is there for both the patient and their family in offering support and guidance following a stroke.
