I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2025 as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2025.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Why i’m doing it?

I’ve decided to take part in the Great North Run 2025 after doing it in 2024, easily the best thing i’ve done and the feeling at the finish line is worth all the miles training that goes into it. It’s the least I can do for this great charity because there’s people out there fighting much bigger challenges every single day! I’m taking part in the Great North Run 2025 in memory of my late grandma Angela (Angie B) who unfortunately died in March 2020 due to a sudden stroke. 

I will be running in aid of the Stroke Association who support people to rebuild their lives after a stroke. They believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after a stroke. They provide specialist support, fund critical research, and campaign to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support to rebuild their lives. 

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every 5 minutes.

I’m determined to raise as much money as i possibly can for a charity close to my heart! I’ve set myself a target of £400 to raise for this amazing charity in order to help them keep up the great work that they do.
