Luke’s Great North Run 2025 as part of #TeamStroke
I have joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2025.
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
To try and encourage people to donate more and help include people in my training journey, I’m offering the chance to choose what songs I listen to whilst I’m out training.
For every £2.50 you donate, you can choose a song I listen to. The only rule is that you can’t choose the same song twice. Please leave your song choices in your message as you donate.
Whether your contributing towards a good and worthy cause, or just giving to sabotage my already gruelling training programme with hideous song choices, please donate as much as you can.
My Grandma was one of its victims, suffering a stroke in 2022. Thanks to the support of organisations such as Stroke Association, she has made incredible progress, so it is a cause very close to my heart. A close friend lost his father to a stroke recently. Stroke Association were fantastic with the support they provided before he lost his battle. Both myself and my friend ran for Stroke Association last year to show our thanks, and it’s something I’ve wanted to do again.
Stroke Association support people in rebuilding their lives after suffering from a stroke. They do a magnificent job in supporting people affected by strokes, helping them get the very best care and support. Like any charity, they rely on donations to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
