I'm running the London Marathon as part of #TeamStroke
After a last min spot came up I've joined #TeamStroke for the TCS London Marathon 2026.
Just before Christmas in 2023, Dad suffered a huge stroke. Our lives were changed overnight and he woke up unable to walk or talk.
Just over 2 years later, he's defied all odds and is walking and very much talking.
Every day he's faced a new challenge and we're so proud of him for meeting each one. Not only for him but for us.
Dad received life changing immediate care and support. The Stroke Association do so much work for not only stroke survivors but families who care for them.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
Stroke Association support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. They believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so they work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. They rely on support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
