I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2025 as part of #TeamStroke
I’m running this half marathon for the Stroke Association because it’s a cause that is very close to my heart. In 2015, my grandad suffered a stroke, and during his recovery, the stroke team provided him with exceptional care and support. Their dedication made a huge difference to him and our family during such a challenging time.
I first ran for the Stroke Association back in 2016, when I completed a 5k to raise money for the cause. Since then, my appreciation for the incredible work they do has only grown, and I’m excited to take on this new challenge in memory of my grandad and all those affected by stroke.
Every donation, big or small, helps fund vital research and support for stroke survivors and their families. Thank you so much for your generosity—together, we can make a real difference!
I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2025.
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
