I'm taking part in the TCS London Marathon as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the TCS London Marathon 2025.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Have been working harder than one of Santa’s elves making items to sell for my fundraising. It’s been hard work but paying off now and keeping my fingers crossed that it will be enough to get me to the first target 🤞 Then it’s all systems go with the training plan

Why the Stoke Association?

In 2018 our lives changed forever.

Gary was 38 when he had a stroke, no warning, he just woke up unable to move or speak.

Overnight our lives changed forever, explaining to our 4 kids what was happening. Supporting Gary through rehab and recovery. Wondering how we manage financially. 

The list of new challenges we faced (and still face) are endless.
As well as wonderful support from friends and family we also had help from the Stroke Association.

They helped Gary with practical things like filling out forms and accessing help. They offered him peer support and even gave us financial help with things like school uniforms when I was struggling to work around Gary’s care needs.

I ran the London marathon 2024 to support them and raised £2600 and I’m hoping that I’ll raise even more when I take on the challenge for them again in 2025 ❤️
