I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2027 with #TeamStroke

I've joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2027.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.

We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Training Update

🏃‍♀️💜 GREAT NORTH RUN TRAINING UPDATE! 💜🏃‍♀️

Little by little, the miles are building, the confidence is growing, and I’m starting to feel like a runner again! 🥹💪🏻

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve managed to get back to a couple of club running sessions, which has felt absolutely brilliant! ❤️🤍

And today came a HUGE personal milestone… I ran an entire parkrun WITHOUT stopping to walk! 🥳🙌🏻

Not only that, but I finished in 33 minutes and 43 seconds — my fastest 5K of the year! 🎉🔥

Considering where I started with my running comeback after having my little boy, I’m feeling incredibly proud of how far I’ve come already. There’s still a long way to go before the Great North Run, but every run is another step closer to that finish line! 🏅

💜 But this journey is about so much more than running.

I’m taking on the Great North Run to raise money for the Stroke Association, in loving memory of my Grandad Eddie. ❤️

Every mile I run has a purpose, and knowing I’m doing this for such an important cause makes every step that little bit more meaningful.

💜 CAN YOU HELP ME MAKE THOSE MILES COUNT? 💜

If you can spare a few pounds to sponsor me, I’d be so grateful. Your donation will help the Stroke Association continue its vital work supporting stroke survivors and their families.

And if you can’t donate, sharing my page or cheering me on along the way is just as appreciated! 🥰

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me so far. Your kindness and encouragement really do keep me going!

From those first tentative run/walks to running a whole 5K again… we’re getting there! 💪🏻🏃‍♀️

One run, one mile, one step at a time. 💜

For Grandad Eddie. ❤️🕊️

🏃‍♀️❤️ A little update on my half marathon journey!

Saturday 10th Oct

Today I completed my first parkrun with some running since having my baby 🙌🏻

I finished in 46 minutes with a mixture of jogging and walking, and I’m so pleased with my progress so far!

It might be small steps at the moment, but every step is bringing me closer to my half marathon goal. I’m feeling

excited, motivated and, most importantly, confident that I can do this! 💪🏻❤️

One step at a time, all for a cause that means so much to me. ❤️

In Memory of Eddie

Tuesday 22nd Sep

I’m taking on the Great North Run next year for someone very special to me — my dear Grandad Eddie, who sadly passed away this year following a stroke.

It would mean so much to me to run in his memory and raise some money for a great cause along the way. 🏃‍♀️❤️

If you’re able to support my fundraising journey, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation, no matter how big or small, means so much. Thank you! ❤️
