I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.
We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Race Eve: Ready for South Shields
Saturday 12th SepTomorrow is the day.
After fifteen weeks of chipping away at the training around life, from early 5ks through to long (hot!) summer miles in Oxfordshire, the preparation is done and I'm on my way up north.
A sincere thank you to everyone who has backed this effort. Thanks to your generosity, we've comfortably cleared the original £350 target, raising well over £570 for the Stroke Association and more to come. Their work in survivor rehabilitation and research is vital, and having that support behind me will be a massive help when the legs start objecting on the coast road!
The plan for tomorrow: head over the Tyne Bridge, aim for a 2 hour (ish!) finish, and try to enjoy the atmosphere.
Thank you again for the fantastic support :)

12 Miles in the Bank
Monday 3rd Aug A solid stretch of training in the bank for the Great North Run. Kept things moving abroad with a 5k along La Scarpe river in Arras, picking up the tempo to set a new fastest 1km pace. Back on home turf today, I pushed out the longest effort so far, covering 12 miles in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. Feeling locked in as the distance builds, and huge thanks to everyone supporting the Stroke Association along the way. Share
