I've joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2027.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery. 

We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Monday 21st Sep
I’m running the Great North Run 2027 for Stroke Association UK because my Gran unfortunately suffered a stroke in 2024, which left her paralysed down her left side and with significant speech difficulties. She has since developed vascular dementia, which doctors believe was an after-effect of her stroke. Seeing the impact this has had on her and our family has inspired me to raise awareness and support others affected by stroke. I hope to make a difference through fundraising and honour my Gran’s strength and resilience every step of the way ❤
