I'm taking part in the Manchester Marathon as part of #TeamStroke

As some of you may know, in March 2023, our Dad suffered a major stroke while he was having open heart surgery.

The days that followed were some of the hardest we have been through as family as we spent time saying goodbye. Amazingly, Dad proved everyone wrong and used all of his strength to pull through. Although Dad is no longer able to speak and is fully paralysed on the right hand side of his body, after 5 and a half months in hospital, Dad was finally released home and we, as a family, are still working through the changes and impact on all of our lives. 

So here I am, running the Manchester Marathon on 19th April! Please donate whatever you can in support of the Stroke Association who help make the impact a little lighter on the survivors and their families 💜

I joined #TeamStroke for the Manchester Marathon.

There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
