I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2025 as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2025.
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

In memory of Grom
Friday 3rd Jan On the 2nd of January we sadly had to say goodbye to our amazing Grom. Grom was the most special, kind hearted woman you could ever meet! She would do anything for anyone and had a sparkle in her eye. Grom loved nothing more than spending time with her family. In June 2021 after leading a fit and active lifestyle, Grom sadly suffered a devastating, life altering stroke which left her paralysed and bed bound however she kept her spark, smile and positive attitude towards life! Grom was a fighter right until the end and I want to try and raise some money and awareness for this wonderful cause in her honor. This is my second time (I last ran the race 2 years ago) running the GNR for this cause but I want to push harder this time now she is no longer with us. Please share as much or little as you can.
