2027 Double TCS London Marathon

I'm taking part in the 2027 Double TCS London Marathon with #TeamStroke

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. With strength, determination and the right support, recovery is possible.

By taking on this challenge with Team Stroke, I'll be fundraising to provide tailored support to tens of thousands of stroke survivors each year, fund vital scientific research, and campaign to secure the best care and support for everyone affected by stroke.

Every donation helps someone find strength through support at a time they need it most. Thank you so much for being part of this journey with me.

Raising awareness for stroke survivors (i am one)

Friday 10th Jul
This is a very small snippet of my challenges i have had to face and still do.
When i was 18 years old I suffered a major stroke, I was given 48 hours critical at one point in my recovery. This has affected my life ever since.
From then on all the little things we take for granted i have had to relearn or i still struggle with daily.
I have had to learn to walk and talk again and learn to do everything left handed. Which all of these has been incredibly difficult.
It has/is mentally and physical draining everyday, you don't realise little things like opening a packets of crips or just opening anything can be so difficult. Not being able to perpair your meals ,
need assistance with certain items of clothing. Everyday is entirely different, some days my speech my be effective like saying the wrong words or not making sense at times because what i have in my mind it doesn't always come out the way it should do.  Also not been able to articulate myself well with my emotions . Where other days am absolutely fine, my mental frame can slip from time to time as i can get very overwhelmed and need time to process certain situations. It has really taken a toll on my confidence and my thought process. There's been plenty of times I just wanted to pack it all in as life was hard having to push your self daily just to do the most simplest tasks, its exhausting. My life will always have extra challenges for me to face, which it did take me some years to except, that this is me now. But I am immensely proud of how far I have come and what I have achieved. Been a stroke survivors doesn't define me as a person and its taken me alot of years and so many set backs to overcome this. So now my next challenge i have set my self is the london marathon. This has been one of my dream to take part in from been a teenager. So now I have finally plucked up the courage 25 years later. I have raised money for other charities close to my heart in the past. But this one is for me. I would like to help to create awareness that your life's are not over, if you manage to survive a stroke. More younger people are stuffing strokes now and they can just change your life with in seconds. So I am asking very kindly if you could sponsor me please, anything your able would be fantastic to support stroke survivors.
Thank you wish me luck 🙏
