I'm taking part in the TCS London Marathon as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the TCS London Marathon 2025.
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
In 2011, my grandma suffered a severe stroke that changed her life forever. She faced immense challenges and spent the last years of her life incapacitated, yet she remained an incredible source of inspiration and resilience for all who knew her. This past January, we sadly said goodbye to her, but before she passed, she asked me to run for the Stroke Association in her honour. And that’s exactly what I intend to do.
Training for this run is going to be tough, especially as the long, cold winter nights set in. For those who know me, you’ll understand that I’d much rather be spending my evenings in a cozy pub than outside pounding the pavement. But I am grateful to be fit, healthy, and fortunate enough to take on this challenge—something not everyone who has suffered from strokes is able to do.
By raising money for the Stroke Association, I’m hoping to support the incredible work they do for stroke survivors and their families. Every donation, no matter how small, will go toward helping others like my grandma receive the care and support they need. If you’re able to contribute, I would be deeply grateful.
