I am running the Great North Run for my Mum, Ann (Penny) Vetterlein
As some people will know we lost both my Dad and my Mum last year. Mum died suddenly from a stroke in December and I am running the Great North Run this year for the Stroke Association in her memory.
It is on Sunday 13 September and my training hasn’t gone entirely to plan so I will be putting in extra effort to make sure I get to the finish line. Please donate what you can for this excellent charity.
Stroke Association is here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Hope the training’s going well, Jon! I also lost my mum following a debilitating stroke, it was frightening to learn how common it is. Good luck raising funds for such a valuable charity.
