I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke

Two years ago, my father-in-law David's life was changed when he suffered a stroke. Watching his strength and determination throughout his recovery has been both inspiring and eye-opening. It’s shown me just how important awareness, prevention, and access to rehabilitation are for stroke survivors and their families. His journey has motivated me to take on the Great North Run as a way of honouring his courage and resilience.

By running, I want to help raise vital funds for stroke prevention and rehabilitation support. Every step of this challenge is a step towards helping others avoid the devastating effects of stroke, and towards ensuring that those who do experience one have the best possible care and recovery opportunities. This run is not just about crossing the finish line—it’s about making a real difference for families like mine.
