I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2025.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

Grandma Junie!

This year I’m taking part in the Great North Run to raise money for the Stroke Association!

At the back end of 2022, the funniest woman I know (Grandma June!) experienced a stroke and unfortunately the effects have had a massive impact on her life. She has very little mobility which has stopped her from seeing friends and family on her own terms, getting from A to B independently and stocking the fridge with M&S chocolate rolls. 

Despite this, she is still so positive and is such an inspiration to myself and the rest of my family. I’m so lucky to still hear her stories and laugh at her one liners. I’m doing this for my cool Grandma and to give her something else to talk about. 

Any donations would be greatly appreciated! It’s such an important charity for such an important cause that can help many other families affected by this life-changing disease. 

(Also, long live the chocolate roll)
