I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2026 as part of #TeamStroke
I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2026.
There are over 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
No survivor should have to face life after stroke without stroke support, providing consistent, tailored help on the long journey to recovery.
We work with the stroke community to ensure the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.
I will be running the great north run In memory of my Hero .my dad. The man I have always looked up . He will always be with me to help me get through life . My dad had a stroke in 2016 left him paralysis and unable to talk. He knew what was going on had to communicate through drawing and pointing . My dad was a runner. I will continue to following in his footsteps. Since his stroke as a family continue to make memories together. Dad loved being outside . We went for walks and family holidays. We had 9 years extra years with him since his stroke. We were lovely to continue making memories. He did suffer from pain . Strong dad pushed through. Sadly his body gave up in December 21st 2024
Quietly passed away. What a incredible man he was. Always there for me no mater what be was going through.
He was a Outside person . Loved outdoors.
Please support stroke association to raise awareness to help people like my dad.
Going to be emotional day. Dad going to be watching over me.

Good luck Jane, you’ll smash it 💪
