I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2027 with #TeamStroke
I’m taking on the Great North Run 2027 as part of #TeamStroke, in honour of my nana, Moreen. ❤️
My nana suffered a stroke, and seeing the impact it had on her and those around her has made this cause incredibly personal to me as she dealt with the after effect of the stroke for over 20 years and being paralysed down one side and being bed bound. Fortunately she had a large family to support, love and care for her.
There are more than 1.4 million stroke survivors in the UK, and around 100,000 strokes happen every year that’s one every five minutes. Behind every one of those statistics is a person, a family and a story.
That’s why I’ve chosen to run the Great North Run for the Stroke Association. They provide vital support to stroke survivors and their families, helping people through what can be a long and difficult journey of recovery. They also campaign for better stroke care and fund important research into stroke prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.
Running the Great North Run will be a huge personal challenge for me, but knowing I’m doing it for my nana and for everyone whose life has been affected by stroke will keep me going all the way to the finish line.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help the Stroke Association continue their incredible work and make sure stroke survivors don’t have to face recovery alone.
I’ll be running every mile for my nana Moreen. ❤️
Thank you so much for supporting me and #TeamStroke. 🏃♂️❤️
