I have joined #TeamStroke for the Brighton Marathon 2025.
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

Shwmae pawb | Hi everyone,
My partner, Jade, and I, will be taking part in the 2025 Brighton Marathon. This will be the first full marathon for the pair of us. We took it upon ourselves to take on this challenge after being inspired by both Jade's brother and the rest of the runners taking part in the London Marathon this year and wanted to make the step up from the half-marathons that we have previously completed.
As well as the desire to complete this feat for the challenge that it is, the added incentive for us both is to complete this for my mother, Joanne Davies, who suffered from a stroke on July 17th of this year. It has been an incredibly tough, draining and stressful few months for my mother and the rest of our family. I can assure everyone that my mother is doing fantastic on her rehabilitation journey with all of the fantastic staff working with her every day.
We want to raise as much money as we can for the Stroke Association UK, who raise awareness for different types of strokes, provide support for people who have suffered from a stroke and support for their families.
Anything you can donate for this fantastic charity and cause would be greatly appreciated by all of us.
